Are your gowns available for purchase or rental?
The answer is both!
Do I need to live in Rexburg, ID to rent or buy a dress from The Glass Slipper?
No! Our dresses will soon be available for purchase or rent irrespective of where you live. In the coming months, you will be able to browse through our online store to find your perfect dress. If you plan to buy your dress, you will be able to do that online and then use a local seamstress for any alterations. If you are renting a dress, contact us at 208-390-3787 to make sure that your dress is available when you need it and to arrange delivery.
Do you offer bespoke or custom design services?
If you have a dream dress in mind and prefer to design and make it from scratch, our in-house designer provides a bespoke design service including alterations.
Do I need an appointment to visit the boutique?
No, walk-ins are always welcome. However, for your convenience we encourage an appointment as we will prepare by finding dresses to your specification. We appreciate your business and want you to feel welcome and comfortable. We are here to serve you.
Anything I should prepare for the appointment?
Nothing! Just bring yourself. We’ve got everything you need here.
Can I bring my friends/family to the appointment?
Yes, your friends and family are our guests as well.
How far in advance should I come in?
We recommend coming at least eight months prior to your wedding date, which would allow enough time for all options including purchase, rental or a bespoke custom gown, as well as the alterations and shipping/dry cleaning.
For rental, we would recommend at least one month for alterations and dry cleaning before your wedding. However, availability of the gowns are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Popular gowns tend to get booked up in advance so come ahead! About four to twelve months in advance is recommended.
For brand-new purchase, different labels/designers will have different production times. Seven months in advance of your wedding/flight date is a general guide.
What if my wedding is in just a couple of months?
Don't panic yet! You can purchase or rent the gowns off-the-rack. Do come in first for an appointment and we will let you know your options.
I am a plus-size bride. Will I still be able to try on some dresses?
Our sizes start at zero and go up to 26 with limited selection. Please call for specific color or style availability. We are here to help!
Do you sell bridesmaids dresses, mother-of-the-bride dresses or flower girl dresses?
We specialize in bridal gowns and prom dresses. However, we do carry bridesmaid dresses.
Do you sell veils and other bridal accessories?
Yes, a wide range of accessories and faux fur items are available to rent or buy.
Do you provide alterations?
As our gowns are mostly made in standard sizing, you will most likely need some alterations to ensure that they fit you perfectly, such as hemming the dress to your height and/or tightening certain parts to fit you better. We engage a highly experienced bridal seamstress for our alterations service.
Seamstresses are available by appointment on Tuesday afternoons between 4PM. and 5PM.
What should I bring to my fitting appointments?
It is necessary that you bring your shoes and undergarments to each fitting. We are not responsible for alterations that have been done without consistent shoes and undergarments.
How long are your appointments?
Our Bridal shopping appointments are an hour and half long. We take our last appointment one hour before we close and stay with you until your appointment is complete.
When do I pick up my dress?
Most customers prefer to pick up their gowns the week of their event. Your gown (and any accessories) will be steamed and pressed, packed on a bust form and bagged for pick up or delivery via UPS.
What if I accidentally stain or damage my rental gown?
We understand that accidents happen, we offer rental insurance.
What if I love my rental gown and I decide to keep it?
If you decide you'd like to keep your gown after your wedding, we can arrange that for you! As long as the gown is not rented by anyone else, you can purchase it.
